One event. Three channels. 20 hours live on air.

eBay Open is the information and networking event for the German seller community. But how could ebay engage with its sellers when the most important event in the year had to be cancelled because of the pandemic?

We invited the seller community to experience the essence of the brand at a virtual event by transforming the entire eBay campus into an interactive broadcasting studio. For two whole days the eBay campus staff became presenters, talk show guests, show hosts and roving reporters. The interesting and entertaining programme united the community in a fun way, bringing them together despite the distance.

Information, inspiration and entertainment

For two whole days the seller community enjoyed a tailored programme of news, current affairs shows, talk shows, documentaries and behind-the-scenes reports. And the late night programme included entertaining shows for and with the seller community.

The specially-programmed platform turned a TV event into an interactive brand experience with interaction tools, a media centre, opportunities for dialogue and networking and other community formats.

Inspiring, interesting, useful – the event was a complete success! More than 1,000 sellers tuned in. The interactive TV event had a daytime participation rate of 94%, and more than 52% stayed on during the evening. 35,000 clicks for live and on-demand content in the media library • 20% of participants used the special 1:1 consultations • 1,000+ questions were asked and answered.
